The Smithy Cafe at 9 Main in New Preston was born of a desire to provide locals and visitors a culinary conduit that fosters a sense of community.  

Steve Shabet took over from the Ingrassia family in 2020, keeping the tradition going while bringing his own touch to the place.

Nestled in the heart of picturesque New Preston, menu options abound for whatever you have in store for your day.  

We provide grab-and-go items for busy day trip enthusiasts and dine in for when you have time to relax and enjoy our warm, inviting ambiance.

Our baked goods are locally sourced and made in-house.  Our drinks menu includes Java Medic coffee, Harney and Sons Tea, wellness lattes, and soft drinks.  

Our menu consists of made-to-order breakfasts, artisanal sandwiches, and salads.  Also, we now offer a full range of prepared food items from The Smithy Market across the street.
